My Supports

Supports:

My most important support in my life comes from my family and friends in the form of emotional support.  Sometimes it is difficult to see the impact we are making in our day to day lives and an outside perspective helps us to more easily recognize our impact, both positive and negative.  The benefits of these supporting people are overwhelming.  Without these people in my life I do not know if I would have had the courage to embark on many journeys, including this Master's program!  The effect that the emotional support system has had on my life has encouraged me to want to influence others in the same manner.  A career in early childhood education is just one way in which I intend to influence and support others, including children, their families, and coworkers.

My Challenge:

Opening my own daycare/early childhood facility.

I would need so much support in dealing with this challenge.  Emotional support would be required from family, friends, and peers.  Believing in yourself to create an environment that is not only suitable for young children but also provide the highest quality practices and program is a key factor when opening a daycare.  Without the help of others to encourage and assist with this process, I do not know that I could do it on my own.  Physical support would come in the form of assistance with moving furniture, painting, and possible construction.  Creating a safe, friendly, and healthy environment is necessary when opening a daycare and this is a very physical undertaking.  Practically I would need the support of the community and families to make the daycare successful.  Without this support the business would not succeed and early childhood care could not be provided.  There are so many factors of support that need be present in order for tasks and challenges to be completed, I am just naming a few for assignment purposes.
