Issues and Trends in Early Childhood Education

For this week's assignment we were required to make contact with two early childhood professionals that are located outside of the United States.  I have attempted to make contact with an individual in Thailand who is associated with Unicef and one in Singapore who is associated with the AECE.  I think I will need to choose the alternative assignment, however I am hopeful that after speaking with my friend Caitlin who is TEFL in Thailand that I will make contact with a professional in that country.

The website I chose to explore for this assignment is ZERO TO THREE.  I really have enjoyed researching and studying through this website during my program thus far, and I do not think that this class, Issues and Trends, will be any different.  There is so much helpful information; Podcasts, links, newsletters, etc.  I would recommend to any classmate or professional in the early childhood field to explore and really utilize the website to the fullest extent.  Also, this organization is one that I recommend to many of my friends who are becoming new mothers.  They find it helpful and useful as first time and even second time parents.

Part of our experience and purpose as early childhood professionals is to not only create awareness within our classroom and our community, but to expand that to individuals through friendships, acquaintances, and to other parts of the country and even the world.  I graciously accept any and all opinions on helpful resources that I can share with my community and friends.
